I’m the ceo and co-founder of MarketMates.
I’ve been trading since 2008, and spent 16-years working at global brokerages. I’m passionate about helping traders build winning trading systems and to trade with consistency and confidence.
Back in 2016, I published my best-selling book ‘The Consistent Trader.’ Over the last few years, I’ve guided over 42,000 traders through my course ‘The Advanced Course for Smart Forex Traders.’
Now, with MarketMates, I am excited to bring you the updated and revised FREE advanced forex trading course. My aim is to help you keep your trading uncomplicated, clear, rules-based and real.

Hi! I’m Cate Cook.
I’m the trading coach and senior finance writer for MarketMates.
Having spent the first decade of my career as a journalist, followed by a few years in government media and communications roles, I started trading shares in early 2008.
Bitten hard by the trading bug, I graduated onto day trading share CFDs full-time for the next 12 years. I day-traded multiple CFD accounts, and then developed a passion for teaching others how to trade.
My philosophy has always been ‘keep it simple.’ That’s how I teach others the complexities of forex and CFD trading. I break things down into manageable bites, and use simple, relatable language, even if I’m explaining complex concepts.
I combine my passions for writing, trading and teaching by creating clear, simple and easy-to-read content for MarketMates.
We aim to shake up the trading world and bring a fairer trading experience for all traders, both young and old, novices and more experienced traders.
